Monty Python's Life of Brian - Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life (Lyrics)

Some things in life are bad they can really make you mad

Other things just make you swear and curse

When you're chewin' on life's gristle, don't grumble give a whistle

And this'll help things turn out for the best

And always look on the bright side of life

Always look on the light side of life

If life seems jolly rotten there's something you've forgotten

And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing

When you're feeling in the dumps don't be silly chumps

Just purse your lips and whistle, that's the thing

And always look on the bright side of life

Come on, always look on the bright side of life

For life is quite absurd and death's the final word

You must always face the curtain with a bow

Forget about your sin, give the audience a grin

Enjoy it it's your last chance anyhow

So always look on the bright side of death

Just before you draw your terminal breath

Life's a piece of shit when you look at it

Life's a laugh and death's a joke it's true

You'll see it's all a show keep 'em laughing as you go

Just remember that the last laugh is on you

And always look on the bright side of life

Always look on the right side of life

Come on Brian, cheer up

Always look on the bright side of life

Always look on the bright side of life

Worse things happen at sea you know

Always look on the bright side of life

Always look on the bright side of life

Always look on the bright side of life

Don't grumble, give a whistle. Especially all you old people out there.

I like how Brian (Graham Chapman) first looks at Eric Idle after he sings "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" for the first time like: "Are you kidding me? No help here?" I always find this song hillarious.

Today in the morning my cat died... he was 16 years old. 16 years of my 26 I had him, I went through good times and bad times with him... You know, when so many people abused me, used me or simply treated me as trash... my cats were always loyal to me. He died and I simply felt despair, sadness and anguish... something I have not felt for most people I have seen die or known to die. I buried him myself and cried bitter tears, regretting not having been able to say goodbye to him... And I rarely cried in my life, not even when my mother would beat be with anything she got her hands on, not even when she threw me on the streets to leave me to fend for myself while she lived comfortably with the money my dad sent me for my education and wellfare... to put it short, I rarely cry, since I had to harden myself, since I had to become stronger and more enduring than others.... But when my cats died, the one died years ago because of stomach cancer ( he was too old to be operated), and today my other cat ( he was old and simply stopped eating and drinking, dying in his sleep), I cried bitterly.Today my entire day was misery but, right now, I remembered this song and listened to it again... It actually cheered me up.It actually helped me come to terms with the death of one of the fewest things (human or animal) that I actually gave a damm for...Seriously this song does give me a valuable lesson... enjoy your life with the few true loved ones you have, since its the first and last chance you´ll get for it...Anyhow, I am going to sleep now, but after getting this out of my heart ,even if it is made of stone, through talking with one of my best friends, and writing this... I bid you all a good night/day.

i wish they used this in the Stage production of SPAMALOT. Waaay better then what they did. And anybody who is offended need to lighten up and let out a couple stitches in their sphincter to not be such a tight ass. It is twisted humor is all. I am Jewish and I am not offended.
