I get so sad every time I hear this song. Alma was getting very sick at the time, and you can hear her voice changing a lot compared to her earliest hits. The only two other Alma songs that make me even more sad when I hear them is Yesterday and Let There Be Love (her last live performance, in '66)... :( R.I.P. Alma!

You're right. This is the Jewel Akens / Barry Stuart song, not the Warren/David one. On anothe listening it probably is her, but it's not typical of her material or her singing whereas the Warren/David one is - you get the 'laughing voice and eveything..

I envy you!!! I've would have give anything to see Alma live, performing. She's one of Europes best singers in the 60's in my opinion. Thanks for stopping by,and to share your precious memories with us. I appreciate that. Take care my friend.

Sorry, but I think it sounds just like her. This must have been one of her biggest successes in Sweden. The number one I would think was "Tennessee Waltz"! That was a really hugh success in Sweden. Thanks for your visit,I really appreciated that.

I saw Alma outside Barker's in Kensington signing autographs - very attractive lady; and thinking back now another former resident of Kensington was the late Ava Gardner. Both these ladies could be mistaken for sisters.

In 1956, she did a song called The Birds and The Bees, which was written by Mack David (brother of Hal) and Harry Warren. That's a different song. This one, originally recorded by Jewel Akens and written by Barry Stuart, came out in 1965. I;ve heard a rumour that she recorded this one as well, but this doesn't sound like her.
