Someone once said that Jesus will accept nothing less than everything from us. When we with honesty look at our lives, though, and try ourselves by these words, how close do we really come? Jesus said, "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul" (Matthew 16:26). These words remind us that to surrender is not to lose but rather to gain and gain abundantly--that is, provided that the surrendering is done to Jesus, who said, "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER BUT THROUGH ME" (John 14:6).
