Drum cover of All Day And All Of The Night by the British band The Kinks from 1964.
Like their previous hit "You Really Got Me", the song relies on a simple sliding power chord riff, although this song's riff is slightly more complicated, incorporating a B Flat after the chords F and G. Other than that, the songs are similar regarding beat and structure, background vocals, chord progressions, and guitar solos. This was common in the 60s, duplicating a previous hit and using it as a "formula" for the hopeful next hit.
It was believed that Jimmy Page played the guitar solo, however, Ray Davies confirmed that Dave Davies, his brother, created and played the solo, accidentally augmenting the riff by playing it through an amp with a hole in it.
No. 1 of a series of drum covers covering pop music of the British Invasion of the 1960s.
Triggering a kit from Superior Drummer's Custom & Vintage.
