I've heard at least five versions of this song (including the original), and this is hands down my favorite. And yes, I own this album. And it is pretty damn kick-ass.

Oh please, this is a cover... And sounds better than what Helloween did to themselves in that stupid 25 year album.

@tankermottind I agree. As a layperson, I definitely waited for the higher note in the end as well. Like Deris does on Live on Three Continents, for example, although with falset, IIRC. I think that's what you mean, going from C5 to F5. :) Note that Kiske's last vocal stretch is only one note though (that C5?), so it isn't a very bad ending. Typical Kiske, one long one-note ending.

The vocals are good enough, but to beat Kiske? Nowhere near. And the one stating they sound like Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) is very wrong indeed. This sounds for me a very basic Italian vocalist. Not as good as Morby, Michele Luppi or Alessandro Conti. The drummer is lazy behind the cans, missing some hits in this complex song. The sounds are tight but plastic. The only thing I actually liked were the vocal layers and the hammond supporting the poor drummer during the solo.

@ElSenseiHernan They would be awesome if he had jumped from C5 to F5 at the ending to complete the arpeggio (F4-C5-F5) and bring the song to a satisfying end. Unfortunately he stops short just like Kiske does (even though Kiske had more than enough range to hit the high F if he wanted, grrrr) and causes an inconclusive "blue balls" effect. If you go from tonic to dominant like that you should go back to tonic to make the song sound finished. It's basic music theory.
