Any of the best rock singers of today's era all say Layne was the king. Of course there's other great singers but Layne is their "idol" so to speak. Dude was created to sing. Aaron Lewis has said it several times, for example. Watch Hurt-Rapture acoustic to see a Layne type performance. Or Parabelle-Are you Alarmed acoustic

Alice in Chains is great live and they still are. Layne was a great singer & I listen to their music often. It's so unfortunate what Layne did to himself. AIC is still a great band, but they just don't have that spark without Layne. Layne had that something extra - maybe charisma.

a song with Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley would of been fuckin epic!

This is my favorite song of their's, I think it should get a little more recognition among their other classics. Great, straight ahead hard rock, love it.

I went to clash of the titans in 1991 saying Alice in what? I left saying that the opening band blew the other three off of the stage

At 54 thought Rock died with the puss ass hairbands until I first heard Layne and nAlice in Chains. Guess that meant I wasn't old fashioned no more. Objectively Chris Cornell became in my opinion the best rock singer of all time but NOTHING has touched my soul like Layne Staley!! May God rest his soul. He touched the way I have always felt but nobody before, since, or afterward could make me feel again. I thought OMG Art and feeling back to music again but nobody could match Alice in Chains INTENSITY!!
