I've seen a few people arguing over this so here's the deal. This band is "Alice N Chains". After "Alice N Chains" disbanded Lane Staley Joined up with Jerry Cantrell, Mike Starr and Sean Kinney to for "Alice in Chains" Notice the difference between the "N" and the word "in" in the names of the TWO DIFFERENT bands. Look up "Alice N' Chains" on wikipedia it will explain everything.11 years ago

Growing into a heavier, more musically talented band is 'selling out' now? :-) Not to mention, they were heading in that direction over a year before Nirvana blew up the rock music world. Story goes that around '89 or so, Kim Thayil showed Jerry Cantrell Drop D tuning and the rest is history. Facelift was released in July '90, and We Die Young and Man in the Box were released as singles in '90 and '91, respectively.
