Layne wrote a lot of the lyrics. And he sung them. Alice In Chains belonged to Layne. And part ownership was Jerry Cantrell. AIC would be nowhere without Layne. Ever!!!

I have never felt such frustrationOr lack of self controlI want you to kill meAnd dig me under, I wanna live no moreOne who doesn't care is one who shouldn't beI've tried to hide myself from what is wrong for meFor meI want to taste dirty, a stinging pistolIn my mouth, on my tongueI want you to scrape me from the wallsAnd go crazy like you've made meOne who doesn't care is one who shouldn't beI've tried to hide myself from what is wrong for me [x2]For meYou, you are so specialYou have the talent to make me feel like dirtAnd you, you use your talent to dig me underAnd cover me with dirtOne who doesn't care is one who shouldn't beI've tried to hide myself from what is wrong for me [x2]  Writer(s): Jerry Fulton Cantrell, Layne Thomas Staley, Sean Howard Kinney "Dirt" (1992)

This is definitely my favorite song of theirs' that they didn't release.  When I was feeling like I couldn't relate to society at all and that I was all alone, I would pop in this song and listen to Layne echo my thoughts.  It gave me a strange sense of comfort.
