Even if Layne didn't write all of the lyrics... HE IS the voice of Alice in Chains and always will be... to be honest i think it would have been better to just have jerry sing himself. on the new stuff its pretty much Jerry and Will is in backup and you can barley hear him...Wills a great vocalist but he does not fit in this band... lyrically, vocally, or his performance just doesn't fit

well i guess some people just like complaining. like it or not there back. most of those songs are songs jerry wrote (musically) i think he can play those songs ANY time he wants. he shouldnt have to quit playing HIS OWN ART because layne fucked himself. thats ignorant .... every one just wants to hate on this guy because hes not layne staley. well guess what? theres a lot of singers out there who arent layne. and The band isnt called layne in chains.

yeah but jerry got his shit back together. he didnt choose to waste his talent. Jerry never wanted alice to stop. he just didnt have a choice because layne was going down hill and getting volitile. no one is going to sing those songs like layne did. but this guy is more than badass in my book. i dont see people bitching about ac/dc switching singers. im just thankful that alice in chains is still around.... i have to deal with all this shit-music im NOT going to bitch when aic comes back

I'll be honest, I don't enjoy this new guy, he's not a singer to my taste. And Jerry wrote (for the most part) all of the music, but by the time Tripod had came along he'd written just over half of the lyrics to AiC, so give Layne some credit! Jerry also was a heavy drug user just like Layne up until 2003, so he's no saint either.

there was just nobody does it better than layne staley himself. shame that he had to die in such a tragic way. this song is one of my favorite, and i praised how willliam duvall brought this song with an aura that staley once had.

I was at the show and the bass sound was really messed up. The sound must be from the soundboard, during the 2nd verse the bass went into a really fucking loud buzzing feedback. You heard nothing but "BRRRRRRRRRR", you only can tell from the faces and some small mistakes but this shows how good they are. They just kept playing

Still got my '89 Facelift tour t-shirt (with Van Hagar), my '93 European tour poster, and my autographed Dirt CD. Yeah, I'm that old, and I have one thing to say- "DO IT DUVALL!!! DO IT BRO!!!!" 2:19-2:29 truly brought back some serious, real, and amazing memories. Don't forget, AIC was originally a speed metal band that dressed in drag! Layne would LOVE this new line up and the fact that they kept the name!! End of muthafuckin story!!!! RIP Staley and Star!!!!

Why aren't you happy about the fact that AIC is still performing? And you really can't say that he is a bad singer. he is just different, so what? didn't it take time to like the original band with layne? I think it's good that we fans can discover this great band in a new way now!
