yeah well adolf hitler had an opinion once. didnt he? I get tired of all these people telling jerry that his band (which he wote all but three of the songs and half the lyrics) shouldnt exist because layne ditched everyone and killed himself. i dont even think layne would see that as fair. you dont have to like it more than old alice. i still wish it was the classic line up. but youre calling me narrow eyed and youre the one who seemingly only liked the band for laynes voice.

he did kill himself. although it was accidental. i dont understand why you dislike william singing but think its ok for jerry to sing. will is a way better singer than jerry. and also jerry sings on every song except like 3 in the new material. alice was always a harmony band. it would sound like shit without it. instead of whining over a guy that killed himself. howabout enjoy damn good music from a damn good band. there IS an alice withoug layne. even if you dont like it. so get over it.

I disagree. It's based on opinion really. I don't fill myself with a lot of shit either. AIC is my favorite all time group. This new stuff, is okay, but it doesn't come out and grab you like Layne did. Just isn't the same. I'd like their new music better if it were instrumental, and/or Jerry Cantrell was the only vocalist. DuVall is talented, but he is no Layne Staley, without Layne Staley there is no Alice in Chains. oh and btw Layne didn't kill himself, but he might as well have.

I love the evolution of Alice in Chains!!!! William Duval is a wicked sound for AIC. Just the same as it will ever be hearing songs with Layne. I'm a long time AIC fan and love listening this album and the latest front to back.Jerry Cantrell is a phenomenal artist the heart of AIC

Really dig Black Gives Way to Blue. The newest AIC offering is pretty damn good. Fucking killer riffs hard hitting drums and brutal lyrics. Shit that i can relate to. I give the surviving members props for continuing. Layne's contribution to the band was quite a bit in my eyes. His work will live on in the AIC records and Mad Seasons Above. In these two bands he spoke to the suffering addicts and broken souls.

Ok, guys... we ALL know AIC will never be again what it was without Layne. But come on, give these guys a break. You gotta admit, unlike other maaany bands' cases, this new formation is actually pretty good and lives up well to AIC's fame. I rather having this than nothing at all...
