And for any of you drum nerds out there - I am indeed doing doubles with my feet for all the 16th note double bass between 3:37 and 3:47. I do however still consider myself a 'singles' player, and I invest far more time into my singles. I haven't been able to develop much power with the doubles acoustically which is why I primarily stick to singles. But the doubles do trigger quite well. I only use them when necessary, usually for longer 16th note runs above 245 BPM. On a 'good day' I can hit this with singles, but for consistency in live performance, and in general, the doubles comes in handy. That's why I learned how to do it in the first place. So for anyone claiming that it's 'not legit' or that it's 'fake', bring on the hate! :)

pretty darn good man. hopefully i can play that clean soon. i should. btw, do you use pearl demon drives because i use tama speed cobrasand i love them. the only thing is, they are chain driven so the footboard is not always in line with the beater, creating slack. -Seth Thomas

I still think Lyle Cooper was better. More power, stronger hands, and faster in general. Not to say Alex is bad. Alex is amazing. But if you know Faceless songs like I do, as a Drummer, I can tell you, Alex cheats a little and leaves out alot of ghost notes and notes here and there. Hate me.

Alex, could you give us a tutorial on how you developed your technique? You seem to have a really unique blend of finger control and big arm motions, and hardly any wrist. Still you seem very relaxed and at ease at high tempo's, without sacrificing power. I'm really curious how you developed your style of playing, hopefully i'm not the only one, back me up here guys!

"decent dynamics for metal" "you don't need to sell yrou soul, you just need fast fingers and triggers on your bass drums" how can someone be so stupid to talk like this after watching this phenomenal video. Alex is the personification of precision and dynamics, I simply love him and disprize everyone who's brain isn't capable to understand that.

I remember when no one else had heard of you. Now you're the guy that all the new kids on the block talk about. Not a bad thing, but fuck, everyone most have forgot about the guys paved the way for this kind of drumming. There is no best drummer in metal (or music for that matter), there are just drummers and musicians.
