My wife just gave birth to our first son and something about this song breaks my heart open and brings tears to my eyes thinking about him... the lyrics fit my feelings for being a new dad perfectly, but two (maybe three) parts that need to change would be: "just out of my reach" & "if you were mine" LOL (& "too many things between you and me" - unless if someday we were to have major disagreements over something, or if I did in fact let him down in some way... hopefully never).
