La Di Da Di isn't a person, it's a song by Slick Rick.

i don't listen to didelido or what ever you called him, and i agree, he would probably not be the same, but im sure he would still be great if he's able to blow lyrically. and yes, i think mathematics would be the same without that beat.

To me it is, I like listening to instrumentals and I think the beat can make a song. Listen to the shit premo produces, do you think Mos Def's Mathematics would be as good without that beat? Big's Kick in the Door? Gang Starr's Full Clip? As you said, hip hop is a culture and part of it is breakdancing, how would that work without dope beats? Also beatboxing is another component, which again focuses on the beat, I doubt Slick Rick's La Di Da Di would be the same without Doug E Fresh.

are you kiddin me?!? first of all, hip hop is a culture, and second, rap should be based on clever rhymes. as i said, not about dope beats. the beat should just be there to go with the flow. take a look at cream from wu tang clan. one beat trough the whole thing, and the lyrics... 100% real.
