John Mayer and Gary Clark Jr did very nice tributes at Albert's R&R HoF induction. Albert's granddaughter accepted the award and told cute stories about, as a 10 year-old, listening to Albert and his band practice out in the garage. Albert would set up a little table for her to sit and play with crayons. But she said she would just have to get up and dance once the music started.

A lick from a 1999 Jazz Times: "There was no more formidable, ferocious, and just plain ornery blues guitarist ever than the late, great Albert King. As rock guitar icon Joe Walsh once put it: "There are a lot of hot guitar players out there today who can fly all over the fretboard in all kinds of amazing ways, like Eddie Van Halen. But Albert King could blow Eddie Van Halen off the stage...with his amp on standby!" Or as the late blues-rock god Stevie Ray Vaughan said: "Albert is so nasty!"

Great song. Great artist. Welcome, at last, to the R&R HoF, Albert.
