if you aren't using a product made for coating the parts at assembly stp works about as good as anything..he went to chevy and also to olds which is what he won his last daytona in-then onto poncho-pontiac....but mopar will forever be Petty linked.

Defamation post: Correct me if I'm wrong, was it 1978 when R. Petty switched from Mopar Chevy? A friend of mine, coats the crank and rod bearings with STP instead of oil. That oil treatment has to be about a straight 100 weight, can't use a funnel, it's to thick. As a kid I remember all the STP oval stickers I used to get from an auto parts store. "The racer's edge".
