Historical music. I bought an album in the late 70's that caused me to read five books to understand. Last day of June, 1934? Check it out.

I just found out Al Stewart is still active and producing new stuff. This one's from 2005.

I've been a big fan of Mr. Stewart's music since I was a boy. For all the history and culture he sent me chasing to learn, he qualifies as one of my best history teachers. This song, however, I had never heard until now, and send my thanks to whomever uploaded it. It marks Al's particular genius for taking a moment in time and making it fit perfectly into a present reality.

I am just now discovering the music of Al Stewart. After thirty years of synthesized pop ballads, I find my heart and mind opening in a refreshing way. I love listening to this music--it feels so authentic compared to what I've been listening to for far too long.

These late works of Al Stewart pick up us to a trip in a 1800-1900s world!
