I don't think I've heard this one before (he made so many records)! Interesting to hear Anona Winn, and The New Mayfair Dance Orchestra are really swinging!

Lovely song, terrific arrangement by Ray Noble. I can't think of any other Al Bowlly song I like better. Anona Winn adds that special extra. Thanks for posting.

La pregunta de siempre le toca hacérsela al gran Al Bowly para que los demás la canten como un eco.Where are you (Girl of my dreams)? Esta vez, la pregunta tiene respuesta y se la da Anona Winn, cantante y actriz australiana que grabó en Reino Unido. La orquesta del gran Ray Noble, como siempre, eficaz. Disfrútalo!!

Toward the beginning the trumpets almost sound like they're being run through a way-wah filter a little bit.

Another very beautiful song from Al , Midnight , the stars and you.. Oh, what a lovely voice and he seemed to be such a gentle man.

Anona has such an interesting voice. Very womanly and emotive but also kind of loopy and odd. Al Bowlly has been teaming up with some very unusual female singers. None of them ever sang in a generic sounding voice.

Wonderful dance record! Must have been a big hit in its day! Love the slow start that pleased romantic slow dancers, and then the double time ending to let the dancers step out and show off a bit! Clever how Anona pops in just long enough to let Al know his dream girl has come at last! In Ray Nobles world, Dreams do come true, and they all lived happy ever after...as long as a shiny New Mayfair Dance platter was on the gramophone!
