To fully appreciate AFI you need an open mind. Their Punk side is amazing, but so is there Pop compositions. Lower It from Black Sails, Silver & Cold from STS, and Fall Children from All Hallows are amazing pieces, but so are Miss Murder, Summer Shudder, Beautiful Thieves, and The Killing Lights. AFI can pull off many styles, and make them all sound good!12 years ago

Please, go listen to Sacrilege, 100 Words (which I realize was written during Sing The Sorrow, but it was released on Crash Love) & Fainting Spells. Then try to back up what you just said... In my opinion, basically every song on the album is very well written. It's not Miss Murder, so yeah, a lot of "fans" are going to lose interest. Music changes along with the artist. They're human, they're going to change as people over the years and it's reflected through their music.12 years ago

AFI Has made a complete transition to pop and lost a majority of their fans in doing so. How can anyone listen to this album and then decide that Crash Love is the more mature one?12 years ago

@N0kel I'm not going to tell you you're wrong, everyone's entitled to their opinion. But, in my opinion, Crash Love is still very unique when compared to any other artist's music today. So I don't see how they 'sold out.' They've changed and developed a new style with each album, and Crash Love is in no way an exception. They've just developed a more mature sound. Their lyrics are still amazing. And they still have their unique instrumentals. It did take a while to grow on me, though.12 years ago

Imo, Decemberunderground was a great album. It was better than the shit on the radio, anyway. AFI sold out with Crash Love. They lost their artistic integrity and bought into the mainstream.12 years ago
