Sniffin' is an Aerosmith song left (outtake or demo) from the Pump (1989) sessions. First being an instrumental called Looking Up Your Old Address, which was what Tyler wanted the album (Pump) to be called, was later reworked and given lyrics and a new title: Sniffin', that made it to the A list, and you can hear Tyler and the rest of the band discussing with producer Bruce Fairburn if the song was good enough and if it should made it to the record or not on the DVD documentary: "The making of Pump".
This video was taken from the old aerosmith dot com website (from around 1997) and was then titled steveondrums.mov, this material was given by the Aerosmith office in Boston Vindaloo Music, which closed in 2004. The video was probably originally recorded at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, Canada in 1989.
Apparently Steven Tyler, as seen on the video, played the drums during some of the writing sessions, as he used to be a drummer. In this video Tyler was probably just showing Kramer how he pictured the drums should be played, as Joey can be seen on the background while Tyler plays the drums, as well as Withford sitting next to Joe. It is assumed that this was a Tyler/Perry song brought to the band by them.
The full instrumental of this song along with some other demos and outtakes from the Pump sessions leaked in some bootleg in the mid 1990's and can be found on the net.
