Honestly, Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay did a good job filling in for Joe and Brad when they left the band, and although that period of time was certainly not Aerosmith's finest time I personally feel Rock in a Hard Place is a severely underrated album. That said, this may be nostalgia talking, at least a little bit, since it was the first album I bought with my own money, i'll admit that.Still, I maintain that Crespo and Dufay did a solid job filling the empty spots, but let's be honest Aerosmith is, and always will be Steven, Joe, Tom, Brad and Joey. Anyone else was just keeping the seat warm for the real bandmember no matter how good a job they may have done.

You can see in Steven's face that the drugs were really starting to take their toll.

Why is Jimmy Crespo pretending to sing back up vocals?Especially when there are no background vocals on this particular song. It's just Steven.Duh!

Rock in a Hard Place? Really kind of takes any credibility out of the rest of your opinion.

I was a teenager/young adult during this era and seeing them on the Rock In A Hard Place tour was my first concert. I loved that album, still do. I was excited when they announced Joe Perry coming back and then Done With Mirrors was a turd. I thought Permanent Vacation was a big step up and I figured by the next album they would be firing on all cylinders. But Young Lust and F.I.N.E. were the only songs I liked on Pump. Too many outside writers. I don't think they ever got the magic back.

It's not true, Pump is a great album and nine lives too, the newest album is really good too, and get a grip is not that awesome, but is a good album. Pump and Nine Lives kick ass!!

My & Steven have some thing in common we were both born in the north east, we have brown hair, we're both part German & we're second cousins.

I'm probably the only person on the planet who thinks Crespo fit in quite well. Rock In A Hard Place is the last great album the band ever made, imo.

At 2:15 when Steven is singing about smokin' in his axle grease, look at his eyes. I think he's been shooting loads of holy water into his veins.
