great & historic song.Rock Trivia:this song saved the career of Aersomith band, and likely saved the life of all the Aerosmith band members, as well.in early to mid 80's, Aerosmith band was floundering professionally, and all members were mired in decade plus long drug addictions.then this hugely popular crossover song in 1986, put Aerosmith back on the map, especially with a whole new generation of fans, that had never previously listened to Aerosmith.after this renewed popularity from this 1986 crossover song with Run DMC, then Aerosmith decided to started producing a new 1987 album, named Permanent Vacation. but most band members were still battling their long time demons of drug addiction, which started way back in the early 70's. fortunately for them, their new music producer Bruce Fairbairn, demanded them to get clean, before he would continue with production of that 1987 album.and wisely by all the band members, they all did finally get off the drugs & got clean. then they recorded the Permanent Vacation album, which included the songs, "Rag Doll", "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)", and "Angel", which ALL became major hit singles, & charted in the Top 20. this helped Permanent Vacation become the band's most successful album in over a decade.reportedly, all the band members have stayed clean & off of their drug addictions ever since. and Aerosmith has now recorded six more albums to date, after the 1987 Permanent Vacation album.
