Paul had left the band by his own choice and Richie came in to fill the spot. He already had his own style and tapping wasn't a part of it so he played the songs differently than Paul. If you look to the right you will see that Richie and Paul have jammed together and appear to be fine with each other. Hmmm? Maybe everyone should just relax about who's better.

@spiker092 one need to have a well trained ear to note a difference, i don't think the mod of the song changes because he plays the exact same notes and the exact same time but in a different way. But that your opinion and i respect that... And at the level Paul and Richie has there is no one better or worse, it becomes a mater of perception and taste. To say one is better than the other is as pointless as compare guitar brands and which one is better... You just like what suits you better

@tsubasa1988 the "tapping" is what gives emotion to this song in my opinion, richie is a good guitar player, but paul gilbert is 1000 times better

as great as paul gilbert is and is a better fit than richie for mr. big, this version sounds a lot better to me because of the bluesy feel RK has imparted to the song.
