Reminds me quite a bit of the Ramones footage from 1974. Adam looks like a man possessed. Saw Andy recently with the Monochrome Set and he's hardly changed at all. Kenny Morris took the place of the vanished Paul Flanagan here but they really needed the great Dave Barbe to hold it all together. Mark Ryan R.I.P.could do with more early footage like this - someone please...

This one (along with similar takes of Siouxsie and Chelsea) was supposed to be recorded for the simulated TV screen presentation in Jarman's "Jubilee"? At the time, performances like this one were supposed to be revolutionary "anti-establishment" but from this time distance it sounds truly awful - and not because it was meant to be. Looks/sounds more like a mime video for the studio version before the latter was dubbed over.

Always liked this tune. Worst Guitar sound ever here though, ha ha

Well he didn't need plastic surgery, he was cute even then. Still had an idiosyncratic way of moving but love it at end when he leaps at other band member.

The director is -probably- DEREK JARMAN. This appeared on "Jubilee" (1978). And so did Adam, for a good portion of the film.

I have to add, I was lucky enough to actually meet him last month & have a nice chat. What a lovely man! And he looks amazing. Sure, he's colouring his hair & covering his baldness with hats, but I'd give anything to have skin that's aged as well as his!

You know- your are right. Despite his hard working and punk ways, AA has always been 'clean' - a punk rebellion against the British culture of self drugging and drinking.

The more I listen to this and watch it, the more I love it. It's fascinating how Adam's voice changed over the years. I think he worked hard at it. He's a brilliant vocalist, dancer, guitarist, composer, actor, abd entertainer. He's one of the greats.
