To any future comment on the vocals: They are not meant to be a carrying consonant piece of the music. Think if it as a percussive element and then it makes much more sense. They are here to complement the stupidly heavy guitars riffs. The melodies come from synth and guitar interludes. Together it makes for an amazingly heavy steamroller of an album.
