The one thing i liked about WW2 was how sometimes the war was sort of ignored by both of the armies. Example would be the christmas games, where both forces put down their weapons and came together and played a game of soccer. Germany had won 4-0 i think. Another one would be when a few troops took refuge in a house during christmas, one of them were injured. Then Germans came to the house as well, the other ones were about to shoot but the mother of the house said "ther will be no killing in this house". And both troops sat down and the Germans even gave the other ones a route to safety. These things do kinda warm the heart a little, you know?
