no, maybe HE, unlike the bandwagon jumpers majority, has a brain. an 8bit song is not defined by it's quality. I can make an 8bit sound with a perfect 192 bit rate (high quality synth). 8 bit is defined by the number of channels a song has. play a nes emulator for a bit, the sound will be crystal clear AND 8 bit.

Well you can add the harmony of the vocals in it, but if he wants the actually vocals and not a synth going in the same harmony and pitch, then that would sound horrible.
