@avalonspawn Actually, Sugar-EEt is the locally accepted pronunciation. The word was originally Comanche, but the settlers of the region anglicized it.

@finkles2000 I totally agree that it is a really pretty song. I even got her album. And I LOVE Tori Amos... but with Tori it is a combination of an accent and personal style which leads to the common mispronunciation and slurs. This one song has neither of those two effecting her album, it is just ignorance in this song. And on top of that, one does not need an Oxford Dictionary to learn how to correctly read and pronounce a word ending in an e. I learned that in elementary school.

I got this reccommendation off Facebook and they asked whether she sounds like Norah Jones, she doesn't, maybe more like Alanis Morissette sometimes. But nevertheless she is brilliant :)

Beautiful voice... but she is pronouncing the compound wrong. It would end with a sound like the end of nite not like eat. It is fairly sad to see the English language so butchered to be honest, its a well known fact that the letter e at the end of a word would make the previous vowel a hard sound (in this case I having an eye sound instead of an ee sound). Which also leads me to wonder who proofed this song/album before releasing it?
