Honestly I like this version the most! I can't really identify with Billie Holidays "strange fruit". Aaron invest the deepest feelings in it. Can't stop listening to this!

I beg to differ, I'm quite sure he knows what he's singing about. He has felt and delivered his best in this song. It's impossible to sing this song without the feeling of sorrow and pain.

While I love Lady Day and Nina Simone, the gravelly touch in his voice seems somehow appropriate too. I wonder how Tom Waites might interpret this song ?

Je suis toujours impressionné par le talent de Aaron... Quelle magnifique chanson et qu'elle superbe interprétation... Merci les gars !!!

This sounds really pretty, but really superficial too. It feels like the singer is going for impact, without really feeling much from the song himself; he just thought it had nice dramatic lyrics with a dark solemn tune, so he thought it would be cool to preform. I could be completely wrong, but that's how it feels.

HELPFUL HINT: Your top and bottom teeth don't need to be touching the *whole* time when you're singing.

@BamaBoy205SR Was it that Pontius Pilot (sp) tried to convince the crowd that they wanted to execute the wrong man. There was another man who was a rapist and killer, yet the other man was harmless?

Meeropol was the poet (Jewish). A photograph shocked him in 1930, wrote the poem, then he wanted to make his poem known, through Billy. I don't find this video offensive. It's a beautiful song. An eye opener. Also Miki Howard sung this song.

@Gjonikki Yes, written as a poem in 1930 by a Jewish School Teacher, Meeropol and Sung in 1939 by a Talented Song Artist "Billy Holiday".

I think this guy is French. The announcer spoke French, not Spanish.

Keep in mind that this song was performed by black people however the lyrics are actually a poem written by a white jewish man.
