Get off the computer and fuck with your local hip hop scene with a positive attitude, you'll see hip hop isn't dead - it won't be for a long time.Think of the big bang theory; the universe started with a bang, but that doesn't mean now that it's over that it's bunk as fuck, it's expanding, just like hip hop. The only thing is, you can't see it unless you look for it. Look for it.

for the most part as long as the Universal Zulu Nation (Afrika Bambaataa is the forefather that named "Hip Hop" Hip Hop) exists, Hip Hop will always exist, and as long as the DJ plays classics Hip Hop it will always exist. Good music is timeless regardless if its considered new music and the help of new technology. the word Rap can date back to H. Rap Brown around when civil rights movements in the 1960's, then Hip Hop the umbrella which Rap is part of the four elements at that time now nine, i would rather substitute the vocal part of the culture the word Rap with Emceeing (which has a more respectable connotation to the art of vocalizing) Rap has taken a more popular tarnished reputation in the pop world for gangsterism. But whether its Rapping or Emceeing, people or artist dont take it too seriously because its not a big deal. dont get me wrong but theres also wack Emcees. theres a hierarchy from emcee to rapper and it goes Superior Emcee then wack Emcee then rapper and last at the lowest wack rapper. Theres more Emcees in the independent Underground Hip Hop that emerged from the mid 90's to the late 90's and then the next wave followed. Emcees are known to have direct or indirect (if its west coast/mid west Emcees) relation to New York rapping/emceeing. Rapping was more popluar because of the media and how the media portraits the Hip Hop culture or just Rap music it self. Emcees(MC) controlled the crowd which gave them empowering command over the masses, Master of Ceremony. All i got to say is good Real Hip Hop from the golden era came from the Latin Quarters, the Roosevelt Record Convention, Good Promotion, Good Distribution, Good Concerts, Good A&Rs like Dante Ross, Good Sound Engineers like Bob Powers and people approval for real people relativity in real people day to day situations represented in the music.

Nas was right that Hip Hop has died (or is dying), but not because of the Southern Gangsta' Rap of those times...because of 2 Chainz, Lil B, and other cheap imitations of cheap imitations of hip-hop.Thank God we at least have Chance and Lamar.
