My dad died about 4 months ago from having a hemorrhagic stroke. A blood vessel had burst in his brain. He was a heavy smoker. When he fell, I was in the next room, I heard him fall, but didn't think anything of it for a little while. If I'd went to find him sooner he very well might have made it. Even if time didn't make a difference that day, I could have at least pressured him more to quit smoking. This song reminds me of that. I'm 17 years old, but because of my failure to sense something was happening, I have to live without my dad for the rest of my life. My mom has to grow old without him, and my 12 year old brother has to grow up without a dad. And no one's telling me so, but I will always believe it's my fault.
