Oh no- Get an 8 string put it in drop E in which the low string is a bass octave E then tune it down a step to D and that's the low guitar note. the bass is just a reg 4 string in drop D, what you're mistaking for the bass is just the guitar- I have an 8 string in D and it sounds exactly the same as this song. Listen to a band called BlackTongue(any song), or A Memoria Brooded, song:human to hear more octave below D guitars for more comparison

Now, I may be wrong, but I also grabbed some help from my Mom's ears (a former professional musician) & we both listened to this, also listened to my electric (in Drop-G) and we both agree that G is the lowest note played in the song. If you listen the bulk of the song is 0---7---2---4--- repeat I may be wrong, but this really sounds like Drop G to me. I also listened to some TAC, but their breakdowns (compared to lowest note of this song around 2:30 or so) are much much lower...my two cents :)

check the lowest notes vs. the new attack attack album, which is drop g/drop f. it's way lower, maybe in the same league as the new acacia strain which is in like drop E.
