This song breaks my heart and makes me cry. I get upset over the death of my ex-husband. He struggled with PTSD and Alcoholism and he didn't say anything .. he hid it and it took his life at 39. So this song brings me back to us ... and how I had to let him go because it was unhealthy. However, I still would have done anything, even after our divorce to save him had he just said something to me.

This song has a very similar meaning to me. Last year, I was interested in a girl, and she was interested in me. We had talked about it and decided that it would be best if we got to know each other more before we started dating. I spent all the time that I could trying to talk to her, and she would very rarely talk to me. I gave it my all trying to get to know her better, because I wanted to date her so very badly. One night, completely out of the blue, she messages me and tells me that we should just be friends. Her reasoning was "I wasn't trying hard enough". So many of the lyrics in this song applied to my situation. I cried multiple times, many times while listening to this song. Sadly, I also cut myself while listening to this song one time. All the pain and guilt that I felt was too much, and self-harm was instinct, which is odd, because I am a very positive person. I even considered suicide because I wanted out of the pain of guilt and wanting her back instantly. So months later, after I had moved on and she had apologized, this song still makes me sad.
