Much maligned band who suffered from a daft name and from being dragged into sideshow media preconceptions surrounding Mike Score's haircut and the important debate over whether they or Men At Work were the ugliest band of their day. Hits like 'Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You)' brought them a big following and commercial success but they were never taken seriously by the music press.

I think they hit heights that many of their more lauded peers couldn't get near, and In truth I don't think the production on their albums ever did them justice. Their live sound was far more representative of their rawer new wave edge but was airbrushed almost out of existence on their recordings.

In my opinion this long-forgotten John Peel Radio 1 session captures their edge better than anything else and I've cherished it since taping it in 1981.

Recorded May 6 1981, tx May 12. Produced by Chris Lycett.

Mike Score - synthesizer, guitar, lead vox / Frank Maudsley - bass guitar, backing vox / Paul Reynolds - guitar / Ali Score - drums.
