This performance by A Flock of Seagulls was the opening track in their concert recorded live for the "Sight and Sound" TV program. This was where the show was broadcasted live on TV, and also simultaneously on an FM stereo radio broadcast. Very high-tech for the time! And a great gig!

A classic love song that any performer today would fall on there face if they sing it live.

I believe how good a band and/or vocals sound live versus the original recording depends on the amount of tricks&FX used & how heavily processed the sound ends up in final cut..If its heavy then you likely just won't have the same quality live as heard on the original. If minimal FX is used on the recording then the live performance can and may sound close to the original IF its a great singer&good tight musicians. If the mix is over processed then its likely going to really 'tell on you' live!

A Flock of Seagulls is one of the best newage sound bands ever....they dominated the 80's airwaves and are still fun to listen to today.....I first saw them live at the Carowinds Paladium in Charlotte NC 1983 and they were incredible to watch perform...I drove a convertible in the 80's and this was my favorite band to drop the top and cruise to....LOVE the FLOCK!!! =)-

It's probably not so much about studio production here, the instruments sound great, it's mostly that the vocals are pitchy or something. He was probably just a little bored or tired or in a bad mood here.

I was there, in Hitchin at the Regal. I was at the front giving a few Horn Hands...Happy days...and the concert was great fun....though I almost choked on the smoke!

Kids, and that's what they are when they associate all great music from the 80's used in video games. You really needed to live in the clubs and the partying to the best music ever, to really get it.
