@Kraehe Sounds like you're into the more dub/ reggae side of post punk, in which case I would definitely recommend a band called Magazine, particularly an album called Real Life. This band is from Manchester and the singer fronted The Buzzcocks on a great EP called Spiral Scratch, but left them in order to start this band. Also try Public Image Limited especially the album Metal Box. It quite a dark album, but it uses dub bass lines and tight drumming to make it very funky, it a strange manner.

Could anyone recommend me bands like early A Certain Ratio? I already know of and very much enjoy The Pop Group and early Gang of Four, but besides that I'm not at all aware of similar "Northern Funk" (if that is an appropriate description of any kind) music. I really love it cold, detached, sparse, brittle even as well as catchy and danceable, but I haven't had much luck until now.

Brutal slice of funk from Thatcherite times, we need more music like this now, more dissent and protest.
