You're not wrong. But legally speaking sampling music from other artists is commonplace, especially theses days. A number of cases can be cited. The first one that comes to mind is Vanilla Ice with Ice ice baby. He sampled David Bowie and Queens under pressure and won the subsequent lawsuit. I think the closing statement said something about not stifling an artists creative capacity or some such. And don't forget that it's pretty much all been done before too. Good ear though my friend.
