This was a universe I could live in and feel at home. Gosh, I miss this show. I've watched the episodes over and over, finding cool new things each time. I wish Wash and Book hadn't been killed off in the movie, but I understand the dramatic necessity. (sigh) Too far ahead of its time. Fox wanted Buffy in outer space and instead Joss gave them a dose of well-conceived reality. I've even heard a college professor remark that he "gets the science right" which is pretty cool all by itself.
