Here's my take: I think Olafur heard Sur Le Fil and wanted to do his own take on it. From listening between the 2, and being a bigger Olafur fan, I wanted to side with Olafur on this and say it doesn't sound the same. It really does. It has a very similar composition and even tone, which can't be argued with. That being said, I like Olafur's version better. I see it as more complex and it has a more... emotional feel to it, I guess I would say. It's totally OK to take inspiration from another musician, and it doesn't take away from either artist. This is my favorite song from the album.

To everyone saying 'Sur le fil' I straight up don't hear what you're talking about. the songs are nothing alike.

when i first heard this beautiful song I defenetly thouth at Sur le fil of Tiersen, but that does not make it less beautiful and full of passion. But yes... brings up Sur le fill :)

as a musician im finding it really hard to sense much similarity between sur le fil and this. they are both written in a classical style that is set in how it moves but melodically and emotionally they try for very different things. if you will explain why you feel they are i will listen but to me they are quite different though both beautiful.

I don't like the ending... Does anyone know if this is an unfinished piece? I enjoy playing this but I changed the ending lol

Copy-paste of Tiersen's Sur Le Fil. It's so obvious that I'm wondering whether there should be any hidden message in it...

I find this song extremely similar to "Sur le fil" of Yann Tiersen. Don't you?
