No "Doom n' Gloom" here! Rock Bands void of good vocal talent and guitar prowess are a dime a dozen. In this day and age, anybody and their uncle can be a garage band rock star. IMO, You hear one, you've heard em all, they come and they go. BUT!!!!For me, 220 VOLT's new vocalist Anders Engberg (ex-Therion, ex-Lions Share) on their new album "Walking The Starlight" pushes well beyond most others! The entire album, shreds with a heavy passionate melodic heavy metal 80's influence and well written "Intelligent" lyrics. They've (founding members/guitarists Drevin and Karlsson) been around since 79' and this album proves it the way it should with well honed experience.Reminds me of the first time I heard "Under Lock N' Key" by Dokken. I couldn't stop listening to it. The more I listen, the more I want to nominate A. Engberg for BEST VOCALS for a ROCK BAND .....2014....hands down!The CD Dynamic Range audio was a surprising DR9 straight across the board. Thank You 220 VOLT for not Brick Walling the sound into unlistenable distortion (that high frequency static sound), now able to turn up the volume without worrying about the fear of destroying my speakers. I bought the CD after hearing just the 1st four tracks, however, after hearing the entire album, I was never disappointed. I give this album a perfect "10" for talent alone! another "10" for originality and craftsmanship and another "10" for making this album worth the money spent!
