@Peter Jones. Sir, 'for the love of Mike', do you not relize that you just stepped in deep 'doo-doo' with that infantile retort?

Wearing glasses does not mean that you are wearing bifocals. You have to be around 43 or 44 to do that.

Every other male dancer in this vid seem to attempt to look and dress like Buddy Holly. Ever notice that? I wonder if they go as far as wearing the false prosthetic "buck teeth" also. and if they go even further and wear "bifocals" to to get the full image effect, how can see and catch their partners while dancing?

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING(NADA) INNOVATIVE IN SOUTHERN WHITE POPULAR CULTURE. All they do is recycle old styles of popular entertainment that had been abandoned decades ago by the originators, in this case African American "hoppers" and "stompers", and "Swing Dancers" from the 1920s, 30s, 40, , and 50s. Pathetic!!!

I started dating my wife in 1942, we dance at every joint we could find and that boy with the number 200 has the correct moves and a great suit. I wished I was 60 years younger again :-)

A course in Humanities for yourself or for me? Because I'm a Humanities major. :)

Competitions are very subjective, & dependent on who's dancing, who's judging, what music is being interpreted, etc. Winning comps don't prove someone or something is always better - it just means the judges liked it at THAT moment, or it's in style at THAT moment. My region dances slow to mid-tempo; which is fine. We have some good dancers. But it's not going to win comps. B/c our style is not in style. And that's fine. Anyone from our area that wants to compete, has to change their dance.

Heard, Understood and acknowledged. Just to confirm I am not against you. Just curious. A course in humanities might be forth coming. Thank you for your reply Rob From Canada

I don't really think it's pertinent that one country or people of a continent do or do not dominate in any field. Because it's not "Lindy Hoppers of USA" or "Lindy Hoppers of United Kingdom" or "Lindy Hoppers of Korea", etc. It's "Lindy Hoppers." We are united & inspired by this dance, not the country or region of origin. These folks are competing with people in THIS event, against other Lindy Hoppers - not with Europeans.

I have just followed the history of this and the Europeans seem to dominate. And to your question "Who cares" My answer Any one seriously involved.Thank you for taking the time to reply and remember no such thing as a dumb question but in many cases it is the the answer where the truth comes out Thanks again. I want to say that's a dumb question... to ask in general really. But I have a feeling that would be rude. So more politely, I will ask, "Who cares?"

Good, but can they compete with the Europeans? Rob From Canada
