@honuman39 And think for once sarcastic moron, they did get thiers...many of them have gone bankrupt or are close. I don't see how they did well for themselves in the long run.

@saltjunkie77 Yeah they really got theirs. They have whole catalogs of music by incredibly talented artists that they can sell and market at will. I appreciate what you're saying and yes, the age of big label dominance is pretty much over, but they still have alot of music they own that they can exploit. And it's sad that new artists coming up can't take advantage of some of the money and mass distrubution that used to exist. Still, it's better for the artist's creative control.

This shit is precisely why I'm laughing at at the major labels failing. So the young ones know, the major labels had been fucking over talent and the listeners for years with cheap ass stunts...but they got theirs in the end.

Roky and this band will NEVER get the credit they deserve for defining a sound that so many others imitated.

The Psychedelic Rangers formed in early '65, while the 13th Floor Elevators formed in November of '65 I think, so they aren't the FIRST psychedelic band but they're still one of the very first.

Yes the elevators were the first to call it psychedelic, but the Byrds did record "8 miles high in dec.'65.The elevators album came out as late as nov.'66.

Took me twenty five years to find out the name of this song and the group. Nobody can touch these guys. I still get chills.

@keilaman Not true. Eight Miles High was around 1966-67. This was 65-66.

anyone who says this isn't psychedelic rock is obviously clueless to the fact that the 13th floor elevators were the first ones to actually call their music psychedelic rock

I wouldn't call that an ending. The elevators music will live well past any commercials its used in. Just saw that your comment was from 2 years ago.
