"You squeeze out at the open call but what if you could inundate..." - what open call is he talking about? "Mr. Applewhite grunt pukes from the candlelight-drunk seldom-sung suit" - why does he puke exactly? What are Nannies and Swamis? "So that famed crook playbook and diary diarrhea split seconds" - what does it mean to split seconds? What is Dane Cook's table and how is it related to Hubalicious stew?

I think that's what makes Busdriver special, his ability to stretch the elements of the genre and create something that comes off as completely different than the conventional. From a literary perspective, sure, Busdriver makes great use of words and always has something interesting to say, but musically, his distortions and rapid-fire of randomness is what makes him a top artist for me.

#3. theres plenty more lines open for interpretation, which is actually kind of fun looking at while listening to the song. All in all, if I could add to my original two year old comment: I think the message he is trying to convey is perhaps a little played-out; nonetheless I believe it is absolutely accurate. Despite the wordiness of the song, to me at least, it's wonderfully pithy

#2. Additionally, how artists (aspiring or otherwise) are forced to choose between a certain level of success, or be cast aside for someone who is willing to settle for success. Certain phrases really potray this: "The top-hatted Abrahams are shoveling the raisin bran" - top-hatted abrahams (controllers), raisin bran (fiber, clearing the path for figurative 'shit').... or "Boo-hoo loser bitch your dopes in the blood and stole Because most rap careers mirror stints as drug mules "

#1. Ha, no worries at all! It's hilarious to forcibly stumble upon the comment I wrote so long ago. As to the matter at hand: I think Busdriver's lyrics have always been, perhaps, designed so the user has to use a certain level of interpretation to derive a supposed meaning. I wont pretend to know I understand every line (e.g anal beads lol). But I think without a doubt the message is about how the music is top-down controlled; from financiers to consumers.
