Folks, let's not split hairs here eh? Instead let's rejoice that we have found Ram Jam, one of the greatest unsung rock bands of the 1970s. I always loved Black Betty but Runaway, Runaway is '70s rock at it's best. Every song kick's ass... No BS... Just go for the throat rock 'n' roll!

Actually Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and disbanded 1980. Ram Jam formed in 1970, two years after Zeppelin.

Ram Jam actually made their first album in 1977, but I see your point. Ram Jam still came out earlier than Bon Jovi, so Bon Jovi's first hit song that made him a successful rock and roll group could've been copying Ram Jam's Runaway song.

Personally, I think Bon Jovi is still better, but Ram Jam is good, too. For southern rock I like Ram Jam more than Lynyrd Skynyrd.

It's interesting how so many Ram Jam songs sound like other more popular songs. Runway Runaway by Ram Jam sounds like Runaway by Bon Jovi, and Saturday Night by Ram Jam sounds like Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting by Elton John.
