O.C. was one of the nicest guys that I have known, in show business. Still cherish the photo of us that he signed. Man, was he GREAT!!!! Without one THE BEST singers.

O.C. was an amazing singer with a beautifully rich voice. I first discovered him in the UK in the 60's on the flip side of Hickory Hollers Tramp. He sang "On a clear day " and it was wonderful. The best version of this song EVER !!! . (Possibly with the Basie Band) Thank you sir, and after all these years ( 50 ish) I have not forgotten your great voice and I have noted that there were many singers who imitated your style in later years, but were just not able to match the quality! Bless you Mr Smith, and thank you for your contribution to my personal learning.
