Good cover... but almost a perfect copy of the original Dylan version that was scrapped (and bootlegged) in favour of the version that made it on to Blood on the Tracks. Would have been good if these guys had tried their own take on the song.

This song is about the singer loving a woman and knowing she's already moved on. There has come to be a divide in their relationship. This is evidenced by the singer being "back in the rain", yet his lover is "on dry land". She "made it there somehow", grew up, moved on, but he still hasn't. This leads the singer to refer to her as "a big girl now", but he's not angry. Instead he likens himself to the yard bird. Like the bird, he's singing his heart out to anyone who will hear, in this case us.
