I got this album from a guy across the street who got it as a cutout. It was one of my first albums. This is one of my top ten all time favorite songs. I was going crazy looking for it, and then found it here. So cool. I used to play the Youngbloods when I was in the service, and turned some people on, and Cypress Hill even sampled one of their tunes. Great stuff.

saw them about 10-12 times back in the 60's playing around the village at the cafe au go go and at the fillmore..they are just so under-rated as a group. wore out about 3 copies of this first album and this is one of my very favorite songs. thank you so much for posting this. for those of us who were huge fans it's wonderful to know that they were appreciated by other people.

Thank you so much. What a great upload! You always hear "Get Together," but hardly ever this song. It's really beautiful.

this is cool,c cant be replicated, they try nowadays. OOHH lets make 60's 90's fail because they need stardom to quick, no time to develope the music.

that whole first Lp is actually quite good. The greatest hits leaves out much excellent material such as Four In The Morning

Another beautiful Youngbloods song! (See Four in the Morning) I can listen to this over and over. Joe Bauer really shines here, as do Jesse and Jerry singing harmony. The lyric turns cynical in the last verse, which I wish Jesse had reconsidered, but it's still a very special song. How did this miss being a hit?

Bauer reportedly, died of a brain tumor in 1983.

Such an incredible song and it's not on my CD copy of "The Essential Youngbloods." What's up with THAT?!

As a musician and songwriter, I feel the same.

This band was truly fantastic. Their musicianship , songwriting, and groove, were light years ahead of most bands of the same time. . The Youngbloods were up there, along with the Beatles as far as ability...It did change some when Jerry left. Jesse, a force on his own, actually was strengthened by the others , especially Jerry...
