That woman's great voice IS his daughter Shana named after a river in Ireland. She sounds great! I wish I could see her sing it with her father VAN, how strange I'm having this wish on the night before Fathers Day.

Van's mother was a famous jazz singer, if his daughter's voice was close to his mothers, I too would love to hear his Mother sing jazz, can you imagine hearing good jazz singing from a woman who sounds like his daughter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though they used the Ray Charles version in "Groundhog Day" I think parts of this version would work very well also. On the other hand, this version includes a woman's voice which might make the song seem more about Andie MacDowell than Bill Murray. I wonder if "Days Like This" (1995) had come out earlier if this version would have been used in the 1993 movie. I also wonder if Van had seen the movie before he wrote this song.

Bernie, remember to not forget Mickey Gilley's excellent version of this song, which has become a standard in music.
