The 80's sucked music and fashion wise except for a few. Xtc being an exception. In America, nobody knew these guys existed! You had to b an 80s hipster to know if them.

I got lucky and saw these guys open for the Police in 1980 in a college gym. In 1982 XTC's lead singer and song writer Andy Partridge suffered a nervous breakdown on stage in Paris and never toured again. His stage fright was extreme, he was dependent on Valium, and his wife threw them away before the performance...precipitating an anxiety attack leading to a breakdown.
