As I recall from an interview of Billy Zoom I read years ago, this was his favorite X album in terms of how it sounded. You could make the argument that there were better moments or better songs on the next two X albums but 'Los Angeles' is their most coherent, fully realized recording, in my estimation.

This is probably my favorite X song. Tough to choose a favorite.... Manzarek did some incredible studio work with this album. I wonder what the band thought of this album, being so polished, as in contrast to a more raw punk sound that LA had fostered?
