[Hoquiam, WA]

It's the first reunion of the Satsop River Rock Festival in 39 years, and Wishbone Ash makes a return to it during the band's 40th anniversary tour. The original Satsop River Rock Festival was a four-day music festival that was held on a Satsop farm over Labor Day Weekend in 1971. The festival featured several major artists of the time, including: Steve Miller, Wishbone Ash, Flash Cadillac, the Youngbloods, Delaney and Bonnie, Erick Burdon, Billy Preston and War. It's guessed that between 100,000 to 150,000 people attended the original festival.

In this video, Wishbone Ash performs 'Throw Down the Sword' from the hit 1972 album, 'Argus'.

I was in the opening band at this show, after first seeing Wishbone Ash at the original 1971 Satsop River Fair & Tin Cup Races... my first of many WA shows. Getting to open for them and meet Andy backstage was a huge thrill!

I can see where Michael Schenker got inspiration from these guys,.

just to set the record straight the original version did not have duelling guitars for the solo at the end actually Andy played two different solos and then they put the two solos together so it sounded like duelling guitars so now you know !

The album has one of the best lead guitar-duets ever recorded and this is not it. Either don't play it or get it right!! There will have been people there who would have known every note - must have been disappointed. If this were a Beethoven quintet it would be note perfect - no reason why this cannot be too.

How this twat has the cheek to play this as he's planning to secretly trademak and purloin the the name for his exclusive use is beyond me, he obviously has no integrity. He owes his whole career to the creativity and talent of Matin Turner's original Wishbone Ash.Greedy bastard.

Have to agree with Angela R. original guitar was actually a "duel" between the two guitars and that is completely lost in this version...........hate to say this, as this band has been with me all my adult life..............but our man with the flying V was looking a little too smug for me....!

I don´t wanna say nothing but the intro is very similar to No More Lies of Maiden jajajaj maybe Steve took the idea because he is a real fan of Ash

1.27 to 1.29 that dude is making a ridiculous "serious concentration" face. 2 min later they skipped the interlude, the Formics >X the original solo is way better
